In addition to the above, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary operates in any mission as directed by the Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard or Secretary of Homeland Security. Our Mission

To promote and improve Recreational Boating Safety
To provide trained crews and facilities to augment the Coast Guard and enhance safety and security of our ports, waterways, and coastal regions
To support Coast Guard operational, administrative, and logistical Requirements
Organization

The Auxiliary has units in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Guam. Department of Homeland Security via the Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, the Auxiliary's internally operating levels are broken down into four organizational levels: Flotilla, Division, District and National.

⚓ USCG Barque EAGLE Visits Newport! ⚓
What an incredible weekend in Newport! The U.S. Coast Guard’s flagship, the tall ship EAGLE (WIX-327), graced our waters, and our Coast Guard Auxiliary flotilla was proud to play an active role in the festivities.

Here are a few highlights from the weekend:

⛺ Dockside Engagement: Auxiliary members spent the weekend staffing the info tent on the pier, connecting with hundreds of visitors. We had great conversations about boating safety, shared the vital missions of both the Coast Guard and the Auxiliary, and even welcomed several folks interested in joining the Auxiliary!
🥂 Friday Night Reception: On Friday evening, July 31, our members were honored to attend a special reception onboard America’s Tall Ship, hosted by Captain Kristopher Ensley.

Thank you to everyone in the community who stopped by to say hello, ask questions, and celebrate the Coast Guard’s rich maritime tradition with us!

Happy 250th Birthday America!

250 years of American pride and tradition. Our Founding Fathers fought for the ideals that they wanted for a country of the people. Alexander Hamilton, founder of what would become the United States Coast Guard, and many others fought wars and political battles for the country we know and love today.

We celebrate this day like only Americans know how, with cookouts, fireworks, and boating. While we spend time on the water enjoying the freedoms we have from our Founding Fathers, let's remember to be safe, wear a life jacket, and use the engine cutoff switch. Happy Birthday to the United States of America, and many more to come.

Happy Birthday!

Today we celebrate 87 years of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary 🎉🛟

Since our original conception as the Coast Guard Reserve in 1939, we have stood the watch. Whether it be supporting our active duty colleagues, providing boater safety education, or keeping our waterways safe, the Auxiliary has been there and will continue to proudly do so for many years to come.
