💥There's still time to submit a design for this year's International Overdose Awareness Day T-shirt competition! 💥

Help us create a shirt that honors those we've lost and raises awareness about overdose prevention. The selected design will be worn by staff, clients, volunteers, and community members at events across Rhode Island on August 31 and September 1 as we come together to commemorate International Overdose Awareness Day.

This year’s theme is: “25 years on. Still needed.”

We’re looking for designs that reflect this year’s theme along with community, love, loss, hope, stigma reduction, and the importance of continuing this work every day.

The winning designer will receive a $500 prize and their artwork will be featured on this year’s shirts. A community committee will review all submissions and select the final design.

➡Submission deadline: June 12
➡Winner announced: June 25
➡How to submit: Email a .png and vector format of your design to [email protected]

We can't wait to see what you come up with! 😍🥰

[Image Description: A graphic with a vibrant background of wavy, horizontal rainbow stripes transitioning from pink/red at the top to orange, yellow, green, blue, and deep purple at the bottom.
At the top, the words "HAPPY PRIDE MONTH" are written in large, bold, semi-transparent block letters that let the rainbow background show through.
Below the title, white italicized text reads:
"Pride Month is a celebration of love, belonging, and the freedom to be yourself.
At Prevent Child Abuse Vermont, we believe every child deserves to grow up knowing they are valued, supported, and accepted for exactly who they are.
This Pride Month and every month, we stand with LGBTQ+ youth, families, and communities."
Centered at the very bottom on the purple stripe is a small, white pinwheel logo. ]

We don’t all have the luxury to do less but yes, it’s true that it can help to take what you can off your plate when overwhelmed or in a trauma response (freeze) where depression and low energy show up. We’re not broken, we make sense.❤️‍🩹

Nervous system tip: your body conserves energy when it perceives danger (it’s doing its job trying to keep you alive) — help your body find cues of safety or feeling safe enough

Nutrition tip: stress and trauma depletes energy so replenishing is key — what we eat & drink matters

It's okay to do less when you're dealing with more. 💚 Just showing up can be enough.

And if things start feeling too heavy, support is available. The 988 Lifeline is here 24/7 - call, text, or chat 988 anytime to connect with someone who cares.
