🚨 Big news and full information on the forthcoming toll discount for Orange County residents:

One of the big wins I delivered in this year's state budget was a 20% toll discount for Orange County residents crossing the Tappan Zee Bridge. Since the new crossing was constructed years ago, this discount has been provided to residents of Rockland and Westchester counties. With the support of Governor Hochul and Assembly Members Jacobson, Eachus, and Kay, we extended the discount to our local constituents. Here's how it will work:

92% of Orange County residents have an email associated with their E-ZPass tag; they will receive an email and letter outlining the discount. The other 8% will receive only a letter. Residents will receive one of two types of communication. For E-ZPass tagholders in good standing and with no issues, the communication will advise that no action is needed to register for the discount; it will be applied automatically.

Anyone with outstanding tolls requiring payment or multiple addresses or license plates associated with the account will receive a communication advising that these issues must be resolved before they can be eligible for the discount. As of last week, the Thruway Authority's customer service team was fully trained to handle calls on this issue; the Authority has worked hard to prepare for this rollout.
