CONGRATULATIONS to KINLEY BAKER, who received a $5000 Bogardus Scholarship check and to SULEM JUSTO, who received a $2500 Bogardus Scholarship check on Thursday, June 19th, 2025. Both young ladies read their wonderful essays for club members, family and friends, then socialized over cookies and lemonade.

SULEM JUSTO also received a $2000 Crume Scholarship check that same evening after reading her essay from that application.

Kinley will be attending NKU in the fall and is planning to study radiography. Sulem will attend UofL and study nursing.

UK rising senior Kamryn Bledsoe also received a $2500 Bogardus Scholarship but was unable to attend the meeting on Thursday night due to a planned family vacation. She will receive her check when she returns. She is studying Communication Sciences and Disorders and plans to continue on to a Masters degree in Child Development and Child Life Studies.

All three of our winners are very impressive young ladies and sure to be successful in their chosen careers! We are very proud of each of them!

DON'T FORGET -- 4th quarter HERITAGE BOOK CLUB meeting is on Thursday, November 7th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Historical Society. We are discussing The Thread that Runs so True by Jesse Stuart. Light refreshments will be served. Please feel free to come even if you haven't read the book! Everyone is welcome who likes to read books about Kentucky or by Kentucky authors!!
