Twenty-five years ago today, our nation was forever changed.

We remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost, the families and communities left behind, and the firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel, and countless civilians who answered the call in the face of unimaginable danger.

We remember the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness displayed that day - and in the days, weeks, and years that followed.

Today, we honor those who were lost, those who survived, and those who continue to carry the memories of September 11th.

Twenty-five years later, we remember.

Joshua Keith Winston, 34 of Hayes was charged with two counts of abuse/neglect of a child: reckless disregard for life.

Elizabeth Nicole West, 29 of Gloucester was charged with two counts of abuse/neglect of a child: reckless disregard for life.

Labor Day Stats
During the 2024 Labor Day holiday (6 p.m. September 1 - 5:59 a.m. September 5), there were 505 crash fatalities nationwide.

Of those people, 170 (34%) were killed in crashes that involved at least one alcohol-impaired driver with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 or above.

Over the 2023 Labor Day holiday, 505 drivers were killed in traffic crashes.

100 (33%) drivers were alcohol-impaired with a BAC .08 or above.

Seventy-seven (77%) of the 100 impaired drivers killed were almost twice the legal limit (BAC .15+).

Among drivers between the ages of 18 and 34 who were killed in crashes over the Labor Day holiday in 2024, 40% of those drivers were drunk, with BACs of .08 or above.

A 20-year-old female of Farnham was charged with assault and battery.

September 1

Edward Emerson Vail, 51 of Warsaw was charged with assault and battery of a family member and strangulation resulting in bodily injury.

August 25

Joshua Matthew Little, 33 of Maryland was charged with being a fugitive from justice.

Edward Emerson Vail, 51 of Farnham was charged with assault on a family member.

A 50-year-old male of Montross was charged with assault on a family member and intentionally damaging the property of another.

Jaiquawn Dominique Smith, 24 of Lancaster was charged with breaking and entering , and threatening another in writing.

Regina Lynn Williams, 56 of Hague was charged with violating pre-trial conditions.

Marion Joshua Pollard, 29 of Richmond was charged with violating probation on a felony offense.

August 18

William Germaine Roy, 48 of Montross was charged with violating probation on a felony offense.

A 48-year-old male of Montross was charged with violating probation on a misdemeanor offense.

August 19

Micah D Morton, 27 of Warsaw was charged with two counts of violating probation on felony offenses.
