Today, our firefighters raised the American flag over the intersection as a sign of honor and respect for a fellow first responder whose memorial service procession will pass through our community.

As the procession travels through the area, we ask everyone to take a moment to reflect on the dedication, sacrifice, and service that first responders provide each day. This display serves as a reminder that while badges, uniforms, and departments may differ, the first responder family stands together in times of loss.

We are honored to pay tribute in this small way and extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of our fallen brother.

🇺🇸 Please join us in keeping all those affected in your thoughts today.

🚒 Today, our firefighters participated in Trench Training! 👷‍♂️🦺

In this scenario, crews practiced shoring or bracing the sides of containers used to simulate a trench collapse environment. This hands-on training allows firefighters to safely develop and strengthen the skills needed to stabilize trenches if and when a real emergency occurs. 🛠️🚧

Continuous training like this helps ensure our crews are prepared for a wide variety of emergency situations while keeping safety at the forefront. ✅

☀️ It was a beautiful day to be outside training and sharpening these important rescue skills!

Our hearts are with Mike’s family, friends, coworkers, and the entire EMS and first responder community during this incredibly difficult time.

This loss is a reminder that behind every uniform is a person carrying the weight of long hours, difficult calls, and the responsibility of serving others. Mental health matters, and no one should ever feel alone in their struggles. Checking in on one another, supporting our coworkers, friends, and neighbors, and building a strong community around those who serve is more important than ever.

Please continue to keep everyone affected in your thoughts and prayers. And remember — asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available by calling or texting 988. You can also reach out to the local CARES team.

Rest easy, Mike. Thank you for your service and dedication to your community.

The Huntington County Emergency Management Agency extends our thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by yesterday’s loss.

Parkview and the EMS community lost a dedicated paramedic who made a lasting impact on so many people throughout his career. Mike was known for his positive attitude, willingness to help others, and commitment to serving his community.

His dedication to EMS and the lives he touched will not be forgotten.

Please keep his family, friends, coworkers, and all first responders in your thoughts during this difficult time. If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available by calling or texting 988, the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

Rest easy, Mike. We thank you for your service.
