Registration for Camp Hero has now closed. We are currently reviewing registrations and plan to notify all families by next week. You will receive an email through Sawyer indicating whether your child has been selected to attend camp.

As a reminder, registration was conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. This year, we expanded camp capacity by an additional 110 spots. While we recognize that demand still exceeds the number of available openings, we remain committed to increasing the number of campers each year with the goal of serving as many children as possible.

We sincerely appreciate everyone's interest, patience, and understanding throughout the registration process. We are excited for another great year of Camp Hero and look forward to providing a memorable experience for our campers.

Year two for the garden at the Kosciusko County Work Release Center is set. We have doubled the size of the garden this year and added a few vegetables. This year the garden will consist of
tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, banana peppers, bell peppers, poblano peppers, green beans, cucumbers, lettuce, and onions. All the vegetables produced will be incorporated in the meals
available at Work Release.

We have had several inmates that have volunteered to work the garden. So far, they have put in a lot of hard work in order to benefit all of those staying at the Work Release Center. It is a
great opportunity for them to get out of the building, get their hands dirty, and possibly learn a new life skill. The volunteers will be responsible for planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting.

We would like to thank Deputy Kyle Denton for tilling the garden. Also, a special thanks to the Open Air Garden Center as well as Sherman and Lin’s Garden Center for providing the plants.

Congratulations and Thank You for all of your hard work and dedication to Kosciusko County. We couldn't without you. Kee...
