We are heartbroken to announce the passing of one of our beloved four-legged partners, K-9 Morgan. K-9 Morgan faithfully served with the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office since 2022 and remained active and in service to the community until today. K-9 Morgan was 5 years old and lived at home with Sgt. Rodgers and his family since he was a puppy.

K-9 Morgan recently began showing signs of illness, and testing revealed an aggressive form of cancer. With heavy hearts, the difficult decision was made to spare him further suffering.

K-9 Morgan and Sgt. Rodgers made a significant impact on our community during their four years of service together. Over the course of his career, K-9 Morgan successfully tracked and located criminals, missing persons, and individuals experiencing mental health crises. He was also instrumental in tracks and finds in other jurisdictions throughout Virginia. In 2023, K-9 Morgan earned a Tracking Case of the Year Award from the Virginia Police Canine Association.

Thank you for your service, K-9 Morgan. Your loyalty and love will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sgt. Rodgers and his family during this difficult time.
