Beginning Monday, June 22nd, the Warrenton Community Library will temporarily close as the library moves to its new location right across the street!

As our library and community have continued to grow we have outgrown our leased space, so we are moving to a permanent City-owned space that will allow us to better serve our community. Our new space at 147 S. Main Ave will provide room to grow for our physical collections, private study areas for patrons to work, and a private conference room.

The library will be closed during the move to give our staff time to move our collections, renovate and set up the new space, and plan for new programming. We will be closed a minimum of 6 weeks beginning June 22nd, and are hoping to reopen August 1st. The library will continue to keep our community informed as we navigate our move.

Summer reading fun doesn’t stop with our move! On Wednesdays and Saturdays in July from noon to 2pm, visit Melissa’s table outside the library to turn in reading logs, pick up new ones, and choose your reading prize books. Reduced programming for children will continue, with Outdoor Storytime happening each Wednesday at 10:30am at Warrenton’s City Community Park. Play group following Storytime will meet at the playground next to the Community Park.

We are deeply grateful to the Urban Renewal Agency, The Urban Advisory Committee, the City of Warrenton, and our patrons and community for supporting us in this move.

Build a Vision for Downtown Warrenton
Warrenton’s Next Five Years, and Beyond

You’re Invited to participate in a survey for the downtown core (area of 1st, 2nd, and Main Ave, Warrenton Oregon) area of Warrenton, Oregon.
The City is inviting you to participate in a survey for business owners and community members to share priorities, challenges and ideas for downtown’s future.
Take the Survey Here:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Warrenton_AWP_survey

This process is a vision-heavy kickstart for a larger, more comprehensive downtown process that the City plans to undertake in the next few years. This plan will help the community define their vision and priorities for the downtown area, and will look to create a short-list of ‘next steps’ for the next five years. These recommendations will identify early-actions that can start to build momentum, and act as a bridge to ensure that decisions – and investments - between now and the larger strategic planning effort align with a vision, start to build a framework for continued investment, and avoid precluding future opportunities.

Project Process
• Activity 1: Visioning and Priority Setting (including this survey)
• Activity 2: Downtown Image and Branding
• Activity 3: ‘First Steps’ – draft and final five-year recommendations, including potential funding sources
• Activity 4: Final Report

About the Project
This planning effort is supported by regional grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfields funding, which helps communities plan for reinvestment and revitalization in areas affected by underutilized or potentially contaminated properties.
