UPDATE: OWNER FOUND!!

📢Horse Safely Recovered on NC Highway 58 Through Multi-Agency Collaboration📢
A horse found along NC Highway 58 in Warrenton has been safely recovered today, Wednesday, September 9, 2026, and is now being cared for at the Warren County Animal Ark.
Warren County Animal Control was contacted through 911 communications and responded to assist with the situation. Through the coordinated efforts of the Warren County Sheriff's Office, Warren County Emergency Services, NC and the NC Cooperative Extension, Warren County Center, personnel were able to safely secure and transport the horse.
The successful recovery was made possible by the quick response, teamwork, and cooperation of all agencies involved. Their combined efforts helped ensure the safety of the horse, motorists, and members of the community traveling along NC Highway 58.
The horse is currently safe at the Warren County Animal Ark, where it will remain while efforts are made to identify its owner and determine the next appropriate steps.

We would like to sincerely thank the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, EMS, and Warren County Cooperative Extension for their assistance and collaboration in bringing this situation to a safe conclusion.
