Every day, our officers answer calls for service not knowing what they'll encounter. Sometimes, a simple act of kindness during someone's worst day can make all the difference. We recently received the following message from a family we had the privilege of helping:

“I wanted to share this photo from yesterday because it perfectly captures the kindness we experienced during one of the most stressful days our family has ever had.

Yesterday, on our way to Indiana, our van threw a rod and then caught fire on the side of the highway. Needless to say, this was not how we expected our trip to go.

We were stranded, overwhelmed, and trying to figure out what to do next when officers from the Warrenton Police Department showed up.

From the moment they arrived, they treated our family with kindness and compassion. They made sure we were safe, helped calm everyone’s nerves, and even gave us rides to a hotel when we had no transportation and no plan.

And because my son is my son, he somehow convinced the officers to let him put the handcuffs on. At one point, they opened the door and he stepped out acting like he had just been arrested. 😅 In the middle of what could have been a scary and traumatic day, they gave him something to laugh about and a memory he’ll probably be telling for years. He already sent the picture to all his friends 😂

To the officers who helped our family: thank you. Thank you for your kindness, your professionalism, and for going above and beyond to help complete strangers. When everything felt like it was falling apart, you stepped in and helped us get through it.

We will never forget your help, and we are so grateful for everything you did for our family. ❤️”

We’re grateful to this family for allowing us to share their story. Helping people through difficult moments is what this job is all about. Whether it’s an emergency, a crisis, or simply lending a helping hand when someone needs it most, we’re always happy to help and proud to serve our community and those who pass through.

Be safe, have a good summer, and we’ll see you kiddos next school year. 😎☀️🌴

Today, the Warrenton Police Department honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. We are especially grateful for those within our department family who answered the call to serve in the United States Armed Forces.

🇺🇸 Thank you for your dedication, sacrifice, and continued service to our community:

• Sgt. Enloe – United States Army
• Cpl. Jaeger – United States Army
• Ptn. Vanmeter – United States Army
• Ptn. Pape – United States Marine Corps
• Ptn. Eisenbath – United States Marine Corps
• Ptn. Graves – United States Air Force

This Memorial Day, we remember the fallen, honor the brave, and thank those who continue to serve both in uniform and in our community.

🚨 SLOW DOWN — WE’RE WATCHING 🚨

Last night, an officer locked in on 2 vehicles on radar nearing 100 MPH. The officer was able to lock in the speed of approximately 94 MPH in the 55 MPH Construction Zone between Warrenton and Wright City. This is unacceptable. Both drivers were arrested and transported to jail.

Construction zones are in place to protect workers, emergency personnel, and the motoring public. Speeds like this put everyone at serious risk.

55 MPH is not a suggestion, nor is it only in effect when workers are present. The speed limit remains 55 MPH through the construction zone until posted otherwise and officers will continue proactive traffic enforcement on I-70.

The speed limit is there for a reason.
Slow down before lights end up in your mirror.

Drive safe.

Today is the day!!!

We were honored to participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of the Special Olympics of Missouri.

The event was a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from unity, service, and community. Our officers were proud to run alongside Special Olympic athletes and fellow law enforcement agencies to help raise awareness and support for such an important cause.

We thank everyone who came out to support, cheer, and take part in this meaningful tradition. The energy, spirit, and teamwork on display made it a day to remember.

Check out some photos from the event and help us celebrate the incredible individuals who inspire us everyday.
