Don E. Neumann (Class of ’68)
1950 - 2021 - age 71, passed away May 19, 2021. Most Loving Husband and Best Friend for 28 years of Linda (nee DiFiore). Devoted and Loving Father of Lauren A., Don E., Jr. and Robert N. Neumann. Loving Son of Norman and Betty (nee Gaube) Neumann (both deceased). Dearest Brother of Gary Neumann (wife Christa) and Beth Burroughs (husband Dave) Both of Columbus, Ohio Loving brother-in-law of Chris DiFiore and Karen Conley (husband Ken). Uncle and great uncle of many. Don was a member of Mensa and Intertel and held a Doctorate in International Economics. He travelled worldwide as a Software Consultant, often with Linda by his side. Don was a lover of all music with his favorite genre being Rock. He was the #1 fan of Blood, Sweat & Tears. Everyone will attest to that, including the founding members of the band. Don himself was a great drummer until he lost dexterity in his hands. Don struggled with major health issues his entire life, but always fought his way back. His love for Linda was his major impetus for staying alive. His daughter Lauren was always there for him and Linda, including spending the last 6 weeks at his bedside day and night. Edward J. Zell (Class of '64) - of San Diego, CA, born 10-5-1946 in Cleveland,Ohio, passed away on Oct 14, 2018. He was survived by his wife, Terry, his Aunt Agnes Valenta, and many cousins in the Cleveland area. At his request, there were no services.

Tom Arcoria (Class of '67), age 70, of Twinsburg passed away suddenly Saturday, April 13, 2019 while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Beloved husband of Geraldine (nee Perno - Class of '68)) Arcoria; loving father of Thomas Louis (Cindy Rae) Arcoria, Jr.; Denine Marie (Gregory) Murdock and Anthony Joseph Arcoria; dear grandfather of Natalie, Anthony Jr., Joshua and Annabella Arcoria and Emily and Eric Murdock, great-grandfather of Miley Papesh, brother of James (Judy) Roscoe and Nancy (Dwaine) Brown, brother-in-law of Antoinette (Dan) Norden and Jacqueline (John) Kable. Tom loved his family and his friends. He was involved in his family's life and loved to be surrounded by his family and friends. Tom was the Founder of Great Lakes Petroleum and Northeast Lubricants. Virginia "Ginny" Lee (Schmit) Farmer, age 70, of Grand Rapids, passed on Sunday, December 30, 2018, of brain cancer. She was born to Herbert and Mary Virginia (Heater) Schmit on November 2, 1948. Ginny was an education administrator for most of her working career. In her spare time she enjoyed crafting, painting, decorating and dancing. Ginny is survived by her loving husband of almost forty years, James A. Farmer; stepchildren; James (Patty) A. Farmer, Kimberly (Mark) Andrews, Jeffrey (Donna) Farmer; grandchildren, James (Kristen) A. Farmer, Lindsay (Brandon) Vipon, Jenna Andrews, Chloe Andrews, Riley Andrews, Ashley Farmer, and Keira Farmer; great-grandchildren, Lorelei, Lila, and Haylee. She was preceded in death by her parents.

William San Filipo, (Class of '68), died peacefully surrounded by his family on January 7, 2009 at Duke University Hospital. He was 58.
He was born on January 27, 1950 in Cleveland, OH, the son of Sam and Margaret Ann (Leach) San Filipo. He received a B.S. in physics from Harvey Mudd College, a M.A. in physics at the University of Texas Dallas and a Ph.D. in geophysics from the University of Utah. He was currently employed by Geophex of Raleigh.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth (Sienkewicz); children, Tracy Halley and Roy Anthony; a sister, Margaret San Filipo of Newberry Park, CA; a brother. John of Reston VA; an uncle, Tony San Filipo of Cleveland, OH; and many extended family and friends.
His body was donated to Duke University Hospital for medical study.

MARC BERKMAN (Class of ’68), 53, beloved husband of Vivian (nee Lugo); dear father of Jacob of Boston, MA, and Julia of Troy, NY; son of Jack and Goldie; dear brother of Jan, Alan and Randy; loving uncle of Michael, Michelle, and Kayleigh, passed in August, 2004.

In 2004, 94 runners participated in either a 1-mile fun run or a 5K race in University Heights. The late Marc Berkman, a longtime participant in the annual run, was honored at the event. Berkman died two weeks after 2003's run, when his bike tire burst, causing him to lose control of his bike and get hit by a truck.
