Bright Sox Update! 📣

We’ve been out at the field several times hoping it would dry up, however, the fields are still very muddy.

While we would typically move forward, the field conditions are not safe or accessible for our wheelchair athletes.

Because accessibility and safety are priorities for all players, we have decided to cancel tonight's Bright Sox games.

It’s the Summer of Soccer! ⚽️ Check out the Summer of Soccer Community Watch Party at Warrensburg Parks and Recreation. Get your face painted by the Big Brothers, Big Sisters crew, too!

We are excited to partner up with Warrensburg Parks and Rec & Visit Warrensburg for some face painting at their Soccer World Cup Community Watch Party this Friday, June 12 from 6:30-8 pm at The Warrensburg Community Center. Come out and see us! 🎨🖌

✨ Get to know Lauryn!

This week’s Get To Know Me feature is extra special. A few years ago, we filmed a video with Lauryn, and we thought it would be fun to reconnect and see what she’s been up to since then.

Lauryn is kind, sweet, and full of energy! She loves spending time outdoors, whether she’s cheering at sporting events, playing Bright Sox, or traveling to exciting new places and making memories along the way.

We’re so excited to share this update and celebrate all the joy Lauryn brings to those around her!

Today we’re celebrating Noah’s 2nd work anniversary!

While Noah officially joined our team two years ago, we’ve actually been lucky enough to work with him for the past four years. Over that time, he’s helped tell the stories of our agency through videos, photos, and creative content that captures the heart of what we do. From events and interviews to social media and community projects, Noah’s creativity and talent have helped bring our mission to life in such a meaningful way.

We’re thankful for all of the hard work, fresh ideas, and dedication he brings to our team. Happy 2 years, Noah! We’re glad you’re here.

🎤 Tuesday Talk

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent JCBS Listens event. We heard valuable feedback from families, providers, community partners, and local leaders about the challenges our community is facing, including transportation barriers, confusing systems, housing needs, access to services, and caregiver burnout.

We also heard what’s working. Strong case management, supportive providers, growing inclusion, and a community that wants to be part of the solution.

This feedback is helping shape our strategic plan and guide the work ahead. Most importantly, this conversation is leading to action, and we look forward to sharing more in the months ahead.
