COZ Overview:
Rhode Island's Child Opportunity Zones (COZs) are a full service community school model of school-linked family centers that bring schools, families and communities together to promote success in school for all children and youth. COZs are welcoming places in or near schools where families can access education, health and social service programs, supports and referrals to address bar
riers to student achievement at the highest levels. Each COZ bases its coordinated system on services, programs and supports on individual needs and resources of its schools, families and community.

Before & After School Program:
A licensed program that is based on the Yale University Model that provides children with the opporunity to participate in homework club, games, arts & crafts, sports, zumba, community service, music activities and much more. Four Sites open 7am-9am and dismissal-6pm:

Guiteras Elementary School
Hugh Cole Elementary School
Rockwell Elementary School

COZ Summer Camp:
The COZ Summer Camp is a camp for students entering kindergarten through grade six. As an integral part of the Bristol Warren Regional School District, the COZ Camp shares a similar philosophy on the nurturing and development of children and is committed to strengthening school skills within a summer of exploration. We emphasize teamwork, effort and caring while exploring art, music, sports, community service, fitness, gardening and reading, etc.

PARENTS AS TEACHERS PROGRAM:
A free program servicing the Bristol/Warren area for families with children birth to age three. The goal of Parents as Teachers (PAT) is to improve parent knowledge of child development, develop parenting capabilities and promote school readiness through personal visits utilizing a national
scientifically valid and research-based early childhood curriculum known as Parents As Teachers. The Parents as Teachers four components:
* Personal home visits
* Parent group meetings
* Screenings (developmental, health, vision and hearing screenings for early identification of potential delays and/or problems)
* Resource network
Certified parent educators provide all four service components, customized to meet the needs of each individual family. We also offer playgroups and other enrichment programs such as field trips. Any family with children birth to age three in the towns of Bristol or Warren are eligible to participate. Please contact [email protected] for more information.
