I wanted to provide everyone with a quick update on our storm recovery efforts.

Our DPW crews are currently working their second consecutive 16-hour day. We’ve also brought in employees from other departments, along with outside contractors, to help expedite the cleanup process.

Our top priorities have been clearing our streets, removing trees from homes, and clearing sidewalks. We expect to have that work substantially completed by the end of tonight.

Tomorrow, crews will continue working to address some of the larger branches and debris piles throughout the community.

As long as the weather cooperates and no additional storms create new issues, our crews will take Sunday and Monday off in observance of the holiday and to get some well-deserved rest.

Rest assured, the dedicated men and women of our public service departments will be back at it Tuesday to finish whatever work remains.

Thank you to our crews, staff, contractors, and everyone in the community for your hard work, patience, and understanding as we continue the cleanup.

A great opportunity for Warren residents.

There is a post going around criticizing our Blight staff working on Van D**e. This is done twice a year and has been for at least 10 years. It's a coordinated effort between DPW and the Blight Department. Blight whips and blows everything into the curb lane and DPW comes behind them with a sweeper. This is the most cost effective way to get the area clean. You would only get a ticket for this if you left the waste in the street.

Unfortunately we will not be out this weekend but we will definitely be rescheduling this great event. More details to come.

Out of an abundance of caution, all participating vendors and the City of Warren have decided to reschedule the Free Document Shredding Day originally scheduled for this Saturday, July 18, 2026.

A new date will be announced as soon as it is confirmed. Please watch for updates in the next Water Bill Insert and on the City's website.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to offering this service at a later date.
