The Moms Brigade is a new, town-based initiative bringing our mission directly to the community—starting with our inaugural pilot in New Jersey.

Berkeley Heights is stepping up as our “boots on the ground” to:

➡️ Raise awareness: 1 in 2 U.S. families struggle to afford diapers—a basic health necessity not covered by SNAP or WIC. In Union County alone, nearly 16,000 children under age 3 live in households facing diaper need.
➡️ Organize action: Mobilizing local drives for diapers, period products, clothing, and formula.
➡️ Build partnerships: Connecting with schools, businesses, and faith communities to create lasting support networks.

This effort depends on community support—and there are so many ways to get involved:

💛 Give: Support our online campaign to help us purchase essential items in bulk.
📦 Donate: Drop off diapers, wipes, period products, or children’s clothing at Town Hall—or contribute through our virtual drive.
📣 Amplify: Share this mission with your network. Every voice helps us reach more families.
🤝 Partner: Local organizations—host a drive or collaborate with us to make a meaningful impact.

Together, we can ensure every family has access to the essentials they need to thrive.

As Period Poverty Awareness Week comes to a close, the need continues. Period poverty is the inability to afford or access the products needed to manage a period—and it affects 2 in 5 people who menstruate in the U.S.

At Moms Helping Moms, our Healthy Periods Program is working to change that. We collect and distribute period products and essential menstrual care items to underserved families and individuals across New Jersey through our network of more than 85 partner organizations.

But we can’t do it alone.
