❤️🚒 CPR & AED Awareness Week 🚑 ❤️

Last month, Firefighters of the Warren Volunteer Fire Company trained in something new, completing CPR certification training. Ongoing training helps ensure our firefighters are prepared to respond when every second counts.

Thank you to our instructors Patrice and Bob and the rest of the EMS crew for your knowledge and support.

During CPR & AED Awareness Week, we encourage everyone to learn these valuable skills. Early CPR and the use of an AED can make the difference between life and death in a cardiac emergency. As you are aware, we can’t repeat this enough…

You never know when you may have the opportunity to save a life. ❤️

Last night, the Warren Volunteer Fire Company responded to a vehicle fire that started in an attached garage. Thanks to the rapid response of Troop L, our members, and the tremendous support from our mutual aid partners, the fire was brought under control quickly, preventing significant damage to the home and helping protect neighboring properties.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of the departments that responded and assisted on scene. Incidents like this are a reminder of the importance of mutual aid and the strong relationships between neighboring emergency services. Working together, we were able to achieve a positive outcome for the homeowners.

This week is National EMS Week, and this year’s theme, Improving Outcomes, Together, couldn’t be more fitting.

We are incredibly proud to recognize 20 members of the Warren Volunteer Fire Company for their lifesaving actions this past December, helping save the life of one of our own, Diane “Dee” Engle.

Dee’s story is a powerful reminder that early CPR, quick action, and teamwork save lives. Each member involved was awarded a “CPR Save” pin to honor this extraordinary accomplishment.

Thank you to everyone who supported us during Give Local—your donations will help us purchase new CPR training equipment so we can continue teaching these lifesaving skills in our community.

Learn CPR—you never know whose life you may save.

Happy EMS Week to the dedicated members of WVFC’s EMS. 🚑

Your commitment to serving the community with compassion, professionalism, and selfless dedication does not go unnoticed. Whether responding in moments of crisis or providing comfort when it’s needed most, you make a difference every single day. Thank you for your countless hours of service, your sacrifices, and your unwavering commitment to keeping our community safe. We are grateful for all that you do—today and every day. 🚑💙

A brief history of EMS Week:
National EMS Week was established in 1974 by Gerald Ford to recognize the important work of emergency medical personnel and raise public awareness about the vital role EMS plays in community health and safety. Since then, it has been celebrated annually to honor the dedication and lifesaving work of EMS professionals and volunteers across the country. 🚑
