Supporting the Waretown First Responder 5K this morning!

Proud to be out supporting today’s Waretown First Aid Squad First Responder 5K at the Ocean County Fire and EMS Training Center and helping ensure a safe and successful event for all of the runners, volunteers, and spectators.

It’s always great to see our community come together in support of our local first responders. Best of luck to everyone hitting the course this morning, have a safe and great race!

It’s Been a Busy Day in Ocean County

Ocean County EMS Coordinators and EMS agencies from across the county supported multiple large-scale community events today, including the Irish Festival in Berkeley Township and SailFest in Island Heights.

Multiple EMS agencies came together to provide critical medical coverage and support, helping ensure the safety and well-being of attendees, participants, and event staff throughout the day.

These events demonstrate the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork of our emergency services. Successful large-event EMS operations depend on agencies working together, sharing resources, and being ready to respond when needed.

A sincere thank you to all of the EMS personnel, dispatchers, law enforcement, fire companies, emergency management partners, and supporting agencies who contributed their time and expertise to making today’s events safe and successful.

The night before.......

On this day... 25 years ago 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift. None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.

Today, we recognize the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the men and women who keep our communities moving forward every day.

A special thank you to our first responders, healthcare professionals, public safety personnel, public works employees, dispatchers, educators and all essential workers who continue serving our communities even on holidays.

Whether you’re working today or enjoying some well deserved time with family and friends, we wish everyone across Ocean County a safe, relaxing, and Happy Labor Day!

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with our Ocean County family as we mourn the loss of Director Joe Meyers.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy to his family, friends, colleagues, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him during this difficult time.

As we recognize the hard work and dedication of those who serve and strengthen our communities every day, we encourage everyone to enjoy the holiday weekend safely and responsibly.

Whether you’re heading to the beach, spending time on the water, firing up the grill, or traveling to visit family and friends, remember to:

• Drive safely, buckle up, and never drive impaired

• Practice safe boating and swimming habits and wear a life jacket

• Keep grills outdoors and away from structures

• Stay hydrated and take breaks from the heat

• Know your location in case you need emergency assistance

• In an emergency, always call 9-1-1

A special thank you to our EMS professionals, firefighters, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, healthcare workers, and all essential personnel working throughout the holiday weekend to keep Ocean County safe.
