First time seeing an amberjack caught at Jones inlet, and from the jetty. I’ve caught Almaco jacks and banned rudderfish, nearby on a boat, but never an amberjack. Spanish mackerels are still plentiful. I’m sure bonitos and albies will show up soon

The Spanish mackerel run at the inlet has been on fire. And there were some good sized examples. Here are some pics turned in by fishermen on site. Rumor has it that some specimens were over 5 lbs, which might have broken the state record. Apparently the fishermen who caught those were not aware of such honors. If you catch a potential record, bring it to the bait station to have it documented. Tight lines
