Wantage Township is looking for a Full-Time Animal Control Officer to help keep our community safe and support the well-being of residents and animals. This role includes responding to animal-related calls, educating the public, and enforcing applicable state and local laws and Township ordinances. Applicants must hold a valid Animal Control Officer certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Health.
The Township may interview qualified candidates as applications are received.

Salary range: $40,000–$60,000
Requirements :
High school diploma or GED
NJ Animal Control Certificate
Possession of a valid driver’s license
Ability to communicate with members of the public and to obtain their cooperation and compliance.
Must be able to handle animals safely and properly
Ability to read, comprehend and explain state and local laws, regulations and ordinances as they pertain to animal control.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to handle, capture , and care for animals as well as knowledge of rabies control, local ordinances, and state laws
Ability to Investigate animal complaints , sometimes working along side police and humane law enforcement officers
