For those that were unaware, the storm siren behind the Fire Station on Towne Center Dr. was struck by lightening a few months ago and was damaged. After coordinating with various people we were able to remove the siren, get it repaired and today it was re-installed. We are happy to announce it is back and you may have heard the test a few minutes ago. We appreciate your patience because this process took some time and was not a quick fix. We want to give a Huge Shoutout to SCI Crane & Trucking for the use of their crane and Brian Santoro Electric who helped with all the electrical work.
There will be more testing needed with the Boone County Storm Siren System to ensure it alerts appropriately but the bulk of the hard work is complete!

Final Photos of our new Ambulace being built by Horton Emergency Vehicles. We anticipate delivery in the next week or so and after graphics and upfitting, we're looking at going into service in early September 2026. This ambulance will replace our 2020 ambulance operating out of station 1, at which time it will move from front line to a reserve roll.

Be aware of the new Changes to the law regarding vehicles stopping for a school or church bus went into effect July 15, 2026!

https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57416

The Big Change: Multi-Lane Highways - Previously, drivers traveling in the opposite direction on a four-lane road were not always required to stop. That has changed.

The New Rule: You must stop for a stopped school or church bus with its stop arm and flashing lights activated from any direction on all roads.

The ONLY exception: The stop requirement does not apply to vehicles approaching from the opposite direction, provided the highway has four (4) or more lanes, AND those lanes are divided by an elevated barrier or an unpaved median.

If no physical barrier or unpaved median is separating the sides of the road--even if it is a four-lane highway--YOU MUST STOP.
