JF&CS was honored to be recognized by the Waltham City Council last week for the breadth of services we offer, our commitment to the City of Waltham, and the impact that the agency has on so many individuals and families across Waltham and Greater Boston.

Attention Wayland parents! A new free weekly support group for parents of newborns is launching at Temple Shir Tikva on June 25.

These groups offer a welcoming, supportive space for parents with babies (up to age one) to connect, ask questions, and share the early parenting experience, close to home.

JF&CS also offers new parent support groups in Arlington, Brookline, Jamaica Plain, Sharon, and Watertown.

On Holocaust Survivor Day, we honor Holocaust survivors, including the individuals we are privileged to support.

As the only program in Greater Boston dedicated to caring for Holocaust survivors, JF&CS Schechter Holocaust Services today serves nearly 450 clients, and both the number of people we support and the intensity of need are growing. Over the past year, JF&CS cared for 527 survivors, including 78 new clients, providing home visits, economic assistance, and meaningful opportunities for connection.

This spring, nearly 40 survivors in their 80s, 90s, and even their 100s came together for an afternoon of music, dancing, and community. They sang in Russian and Yiddish, reconnected with one another, and filled the room with joy.

We are honored to walk alongside survivors in their later years, helping ensure they can age with dignity, receive the care they deserve, and remain part of a caring Jewish community.

Earlier this month, a small but mighty team represented JF&CS Family Table at the Walk for Hunger, raising nearly $50,000! Family Table will receive 60% of those proceeds, with the remainder going to support the work of Project Bread throughout the Commonwealth.

JF&CS is proud to stand with the anti‑hunger movement in Massachusetts, both by providing food directly to our clients and by partnering with Project Bread to advocate for lasting solutions to food insecurity in our communities.

Fundraising continues through June 30. Please help us get over the $50,000 mark by donating at https://give.projectbread.org/team/806149.

Circles of Connection are peer-led support groups offering a space for Jewish people across Greater Boston to reflect on difficult topics, including rising antisemitism. With clinical oversight from JF&CS, these circles have created spaces where people feel heard, validated and less isolated, as recently highlighted in JewishBoston.

This past weekend, JF&CS celebrated Shavuot, bringing together adults with diverse needs and abilities. Participants learned about the holiday from Rabbi Allison Berry, sang along to live music, and, of course, ate delicious ice cream sundaes!

Thank you to our incredible volunteers who helped make this event possible!
