🎉 We have some exciting news! 🎉

The Community Day Center of Waltham is incredibly grateful to have been selected as a recipient of a Cummings Foundation grant, providing $25,000 per year for the next three years! 🥳

This funding comes at a crucial time as we work with more guests than ever before. It will help us expand our case management services, support more individuals experiencing homelessness, and continue helping people move toward stable housing and brighter futures.

Last year alone, we helped 30 formerly chronically homeless individuals secure permanent housing. 💪

A huge thank you to the Cummings Foundation for believing in our mission and investing in our community. Together, we can continue changing lives across Waltham and MetroWest. ❤️

We already have an amazing 65 legends signed up to run, walk, and come together in support of the Community Day Center of Waltham 🙌

🐾💛 Part 7: Home 💛🐾

Continuing Judy & Callie Jane’s story 💛

Today, Judy and Callie Jane have something they once feared they might never have again — a place to call home.

They've found somewhere safe and stable to live, and Judy is now helping care for another elderly gentleman in a place they affectionately call "The Home."

While Judy's experience of homelessness is now behind her, she knows she couldn't have got through it without the support of the Community Day Center. From a safe place to stay to people who stood beside her every step of the way, the Center helped her and Callie Jane stay together and move forward.

Sadly, there are still many people across MetroWest whose journeys are only just beginning.

🐾💛 Part 6: Someone Beside You 💛🐾

Continuing Judy & Callie Jane’s story 💛

One of the things Judy speaks about most when reflecting on her journey is the support she received from the team at the Community Day Center, and the feeling that no matter how difficult things became, nobody gave up on her.

“They always said to me, if you keep coming, we’ll keep working.”

And they did.

At every stage of the process, through the uncertainty, the appointments, the paperwork, and the stress of trying to rebuild stability, somebody was there beside her. Even when Judy had to attend court, a member of the team came with her so she wouldn’t have to face it alone.

Sometimes, what so many of our unhoused neighbours need most is not just emergency support or shelter, but somebody walking beside them through the process. Someone who listens, who reassures them, and who continues showing up, even when things feel overwhelming.

That’s what our incredible team does every single day. They go above and beyond for the people who walk through our doors, offering practical support, guidance, and simply a friendly face during some of the hardest moments of somebody’s life.

But right now, there are still so many people across MetroWest who need that support, and who are still searching for someone to turn to for help and hope.

🏃‍♀️💛 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR ROAD RACE 5K!! 💛🏃‍♂️

There are now LESS THAN TWO WEEKS to go until our final event to finish Mission MetroWest 2026 with a bang!! 🎉🔥

But we are still urgently looking for a few volunteers who can spare a couple of hours on the morning of Sunday May 31st to help us make the event run smoothly 🙌

If you’re free and able to help, we would hugely appreciate anyone who can come along and donate a little bit of their time so we can make this a super successful, safe, and enjoyable event for all our runners 💛
