🦦Our baby otters are starting to learn to swim and eat fish!!!
Did you know we have 3 otters in our care?!!

Charles Town Landing has generously donated some smelt to kick start our otters behavioral development

Proper diet is extremely important for our wildlife…
These babies need to learn how to otter 😝

Beau was a bit nervous at first but we soak his fish in his formula and he stated using those teeth!

These otter babies are about big enough to go in their outside enclosure 🤩

Did you know we have over 100 little opossums in our care?!? 😳
These little ones are eating in their own but still not ready for the big world

Opossums are released about 2lbs
Lots of food, enrichment and bedding

We have updated our wishlists to help with all these little ones!

Without your generosity, the work we do would not be possible.
Thank you for your support!

Wow 🤯
Baby season has come on FULL force

Wildlife rescues are dealing with an unprecedented amount of wild calls. 😵‍💫
As you know our rehabbers are volunteers
We are doing the best we can to get these animals into the correct hands
We understand your frustration

💞How to help- 💞

🚗 Transport- driving these animals to the correct rehabbers.
Our rehabbers are so busy feeding and cleaning- them driving to get an animal is not an option sometimes

❌Do NOT give food or water- unless advised by a rehabber.
We understand its taking time to get them to a rehabber but feeding the incorrect formula will be catastrophic

❌Your friend Ashley Nextdoor who has raised kittens is not appropriate to care for wildlife.
Wildlife have very specific diets and nothing you get at the local store is appropriate for them.
Every rehabber special order’s species specific formula and feeding tools

Please watch out for bunny nest 🥺

This poor bunny lost it’s siblings and then its own life due to a dog attack

We completely understand accidents happen
Dogs are predators that’s why most of their dog toys squeak!

If you find a bunny nest contact us!
We can help you keep these bunnies safe while still allowing your dog to enjoy their yard 🙂

Together we can learn and help protect of native wildlife 😍

Raccoons 🩷
These precious bandits are what we call
Neonates

Their umbilical cords are still attached and they require round the clock care

We are unsure what happened to mom 🥺
Babies this young can not see or hear
They rely completely on their momma for nutrition, warmth and protection

Momma raccoons are out foraging during the day so the can be home at night to protect their babies

☀️ Remember if you see a raccoon out during the day
It doesn’t have rabies ..
It has babies!

Well this is rare…

Over the weekend we received 3 baby otters

1st otter is Willa -
She was found on the side of the road
No mom in sight

2nd otter is Beau-
He was found in Beaufort suckling on his deceased mom 🥺

3 otter is Lucas 🩵
He was found just walking under cars in a neighborhood

We are so sad they are not with their moms but glad we have other pups so they can bond

River otter mothers are fiercely protective and attentive, raising 1–6 pups (usually 2–3) in dens near water.

💞Pups are born in a den (often a hollow log or beaver lodge) and stay there for the first few weeks of life.

Despite being aquatic, otter pups do not swim automatically.

🦦River otters are generally solitary, but families (mother and pups) stay together until the young are about 6–8 months old or until the next litter is born.

Help us raise some funds for their formula, veterinary care, medications and all the stuffed animals they need 😍

🥶Recently we have received multiple baby animals in coolers
Both of those babies didn’t make it 😞

A cold baby needs a heat source like a warm rice sock or heating pad
A cooler is just going to keep them cold- hence the name cooler
A blanket or towel is not a heat source either - the only time a blanket is warm is fresh out the dryer or insulating your body heat
All baby animals need a heat source to survive

🩵 we truly appreciate every single person caring and trying to save wildlife
If we can provide better information and guidance that’s what we are here for
Thank you everyone
This is for the babies

🐈‍⬛ Did you know that cats are one of wildlife’s biggest predators? 🐈
We love our feline friends but outdoor cats are skilled hunters and create havoc on our wild friends

Cats bites are considered critical
Cats have needle sharp teeth and sometimes you can’t even see the wound
Antibiotics are ALWAYS required weather we see a wound or not

This cat attack was quite severe and we are so glad the finder stepped in

The 1st 24 hours were critical-
His breathing was labored, he has punctures all over his chest, abdomen and head and a severe laceration to his lip and nose

We started immediately on antibiotics and pain medication
Today this little one actually cried for some food 🥹
We are still guarded but hopeful

03/30/2026

Let’s start this week off positive 💞
We have a couple mommas in rehab
It’s such a beautiful experience to watch them be mothers in a safe and healthy environment

We have updated our Amazon wishlist 🌟
