Salem NH Conservation Commission

Salem NH Conservation Commission We are a group of like-minded, Town of Salem citizens who share the common goal of conserving and protecting our local natural resources.

The Salem Conservation Commission is made up of 6 members, 2 alternates and 1 representative from the Board of Selectmen. The Commission reviews all proposed projects that might have an impact on wetlands. They review plans for activities, including new development and redevelopment; they impose conditions to ensure that those impacts are minimized and they seek opportunities to increase and improve protected wetlands, forests and meadows in the Town.

In light of the season and of recent inquiries, please take note of the recently-revised Salem Town Forest Rules and Maple Sugaring Guidelines! The Town Forest is an excellent venue for observing winter wildlife and enjoying winter activities like snowshoeing or cross-country skiing! Enjoy the season and stay warm!

JOIN US THIS SATURDAY -- JUNE 4TH -- IN THE SALEM TOWN FOREST IN HONOR OF NATIONAL TRAILS DAY!

9:00__Trail Clean Up__If you've got them, bring some gloves and some loppers. If you don't, then just bring yourself! We'll provide snacks and water.

1:00__Guided Walk__If you're into a more relaxing experience in the forest, we promise not to put you to work for our 1 o'clock guided trail walk.
