PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT FOR STREET CLEANING:

Walnutport Public has begun their annual Spring street cleaning. They advised us that they posted temporary "NO PARKING" signs up on the streets that they will be street sweeping on. The hours for the "NO PARKING" will be from 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM. However, when they finish a specific street, they will remove the signs and you will be able to park on the street again, but ONLY WHEN THE SIGNS ARE REMOVED. If you don't remove your vehicle by 7:00 AM on the day of the street cleaning, your vehicle will receive a parking ticket and the vehicle will be towed. As we receive notification from Public Works on the specific streets that will be cleaned, we will post the street listing on our page.

Public Works will be street cleaning the following streets on Thursday April 9:

Oak Street
Cherry Street
North Railroad Street
North Canal Street
200 and 300 block of Washington Street
700 block of South Lincoln Avenue

- All dogs three months or older or upon transfer must be licensed by Jan. 1 of each year
- Owners of non-licensed dogs can be cited with a maximum fine of $500 per dog plus court costs
- Dog wardens randomly canvass neighborhoods to ensure all dogs are licensed; violators may be fined
- If your dog gets lost, a current license is the fastest way to get your dog back home
- Licensing fees help the millions of dogs in Pennsylvania by funding the Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement
- Purchase a license from your local county treasurer or issuing agent
- An annual license is $10.80, and a lifetime license is $52.80, discounts are available to older adults and people with disabilities

***************ATTENTION BOROUGH RESIDENTS***************

To improve communication with the citizens of Walnutport, the Walnutport Authority and the Borough of Walnutport have collaboratively purchased a mass notification system called RAVE ALERT. What this system does is allow representatives from both agencies send out a message to the citizens that have registered with the program, i.e. a water leak at a specific area, snow emergency, meeting reminder, etc.

As previously mentioned, this will only work for citizens that register with the system. You may register either by the following URL address or scan the following QR code with your mobile device. Once you go to the site, just answer all the questions and then you will receive notification that you are registered.

Thank you and be safe.

02/21/2026

Good Afternoon Walnutport Residents. With the pending storm and the potential snow amounts predicted, the Borough will be under a snow emergency from Sunday the 22nd at 12 noon until further notice. Please remove all vehicles from all snow emergency routes and if possible utilize alternative parking for side streets if you do not live on an emergency route. At this time we have no information about garbage collection for Monday. We are aware that Casella will not run their trucks in inclement weather, however as information is provided we will update residents as quickly as possible. If you choose to put your toter out for collection, please do not place them in the street as this will interfere with snow plowing and removal. Please be safe and check on your neighbors.
