Our department is grateful to be a receipient of the FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency AFG Grant.

The turnouts we have been using vary in age from 13 to 32 years old. To say we needed them was an understatement.

Today we were able to unbox and try them. It is an awesome feeling to have up to date turnouts to keep our members safe while we serve our community.

Today we hosted a landing zone class with AirCare - University of Mississippi Medical Center. Though the weather did not cooperate for the helicopter to land, we still had a great training session.

We had volunteer firefighters from 10 departments across Leake, Newton, and Scott counties, along with staff of Magnolia Ambulance. Thank you to Ben White for instructing and Cori Bitner for organazing this class. We always appreciate joining together as a team to ensure readiness across our state.

This Saturday-April 25th, 2026 at 09:00am. Madden VFD will be hosting an LZ class in partner with UMMC AirCare and local EMS. We invite all local fire departments and other first responders to join us for a fun day of learning and training together.

This week 7 members of our department attended the LP Gas/Live Fire class taught by the MS State Fire Academy.

On Saturday January 31st, Assistant Chief Ken Withers and Firefighter Jeff Gipson attended the CO2 training at MS State Fire Academy.

Our department is always training to be prepared when our community needs us.
