Thanks to everyone that turned out today to help distribute over 3500 pounds of food into our local communities. Lots of inclement weather yesterday afternoon and last night, and some still did not have power this morning, but they came on anyway and made it happen. Shout out to Ralph B who was out all night with the Fire Department clearing roads, etc. and coming to help this morning without too much sleep. We were able to give out fresh potatoes, fresh, grapefruit, and fresh eggs made possible by
MS Food Network , city of Walnut Grove, Mississippi and Whitley Fanguy Thrash!

The ‘Easter Snap’ did not keep our faithful volunteers away and we were able to distribute over 2,500 pounds of food into our communities this morning. We appreciate our partnership with the town of Walnut Grove, Mississippi, and those that support our mission in making these distributions possible. Have a great weekend!

We had a busy time this morning distributing food to those in our communities within Leake, Scott, Neshoba and Newton counties. Grateful for our volunteers that faithfully give their time to make this happen. We had a special volunteer this morning working to fulfill community service hours for his Pelahatchie Beta Club project-it’s great to see these young people serving others and helping out!
Thank you to the city of Walnut Grove, Mississippi and Mississippi Food Network, both partners with us in our endeavor to serve those in our area.

We were able to secure extra protein products from Mississippi Food Network who are always very helpful in our mission. Shoutout to Walnut Grove, Mississippi for the continued support as well! A nurse advocate reached out to me from Texas with an urgent local need a few days ago. The RN is working with an older lady with challenges made much worse by past abuse and other situations. Massive trust issues keeps her from reaching out to anyone for help and she is in a constant state of fear. She recently moved out of a bad environment, lives alone in a rental and from my understanding has faced a few different scams that wiped out the little money she had-hence the trust issues. Last week she had no heat or food and after finally agreeing to meet with me, I was able to get her groceries taken care of and she now has a small space heater. If you’d like to donate funds to help this situation, thank you. If you have more questions, please let me know via cell, messenger.

We had a very busy morning at CMSFP today-more first time guests than I think we’ve ever had. Unfortunately, after serving more families than we have in years, we did run out of boxes. Also, please know that all food boxes WILL NOT be the same and yours may not have the same items or in quantities that someone else may have. We don’t do this intentionally, we just run out items and can’t guarantee everyone will get the same thing.
A hugh shoutout to our faithful volunteers that showed up this morning before daylight! Each of you worked tirelessly to get over 3,000 pounds of food into the communities of Leake, Scott, Newton and Neshoba counties. We also appreciate the support of Walnut Grove, Mississippi and the MS Food Network.
