UPCOMING EVENTS:
SATURDAY, SEPT. 19, 2015- From 10:45 AM to 12:00 noon:
We have an exciting speaker now scheduled for Sept. 19. Our speaker will be Rita P. Gandhy M.D, MPH. She has recently joined the Parkinson Institutes medical staff in Sunnyvale. She is a neurologist who is a movement disorder specialist. Her talk is titled Updates on Parkinson's Disease: New ideas and New Therapies. There will be plenty of time for questions.
SATURDAY, OCT. 17, 2015- From 10:40AM until 12:00 noon there will be three separate meetings:
1) Extended Parkinsonians Only Discussion Group.
For those newly diagnosed or who’ve had PD for years. Extra time to share, laugh, and learn from each other. Contact person is Gregg Riehl at (925) 254-8349 ([email protected]) or Sandy Clark ([email protected]) (925) 944-0769. This meeting will be in the Fireside Room.
2) Caregivers Only Discussion Group
Caregivers discuss issues relating to their roles.

3.Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Group.
For PDers who have had or are considering DBS. Participants discuss issues relating to the procedure. Contact person is Art Fowler at 925 314 1875([email protected]). This meeting will be in Oak Room.

Cindy Gershen: "Change the Food, Change the Future"
Cindy Gershen is chef, owner Sunrise Bistro, author of Fat Chance Cookbook, and culinary teacher, Mt. Diablo High School. She will discuss nutrition and PD.
