Join Environment Oregon’s Conservation Advocate Justin Boyles and Oregon Parks & Recreation Department Park Manager Brian Vaughan for a guided walk at Minam State Recreation Area. Along the scenic Wallowa River between the Wallowa–Whitman and Umatilla National Forests, Minam State Recreation Area offers a rugged, off-the-grid escape with river access, remote camping, abundant wildlife and access to miles of hiking trails.
On this walk among the cottonwood-lined riverbank with sweeping canyon and forest views, we will watch for signs of wildlife like elk or bighorn sheep. Along the way, we’ll connect these features to the larger story of Oregon’s parks and their importance for conservation and community.
This event is free and open to the public, and welcoming to all ages and experience levels.
