Stop by Wallops Visitor Center Friday, May 22 from 10:30 a.m. to noon for Satellites & the Secrets of Planet Earth — the first installment of The STEM Spotlight Series!

Special guest Brian Campbell, NASA Wallops Earth Science specialist, will take us on a journey into the incredible world of NASA’s Earth-observing satellites. From tracking melting ice and mapping forests to monitoring ocean health and measuring sea‑level rise, these satellites give us a front‑row seat to the dynamic planet we call home.

Discover how NASA uses cutting‑edge technology — lasers, sensors, and orbiting observatories — to better understand our changing world and help communities prepare for the future.

Whether you’re a student, a space enthusiast, or simply curious about how satellites observe Earth from hundreds of miles above, this program offers an inspiring look at the science that connects us all.

Overheard at Wallops: "That's a big plane!"

Wallops' teams supported the arrival of an Antonov AN-124, the heaviest operating cargo aircraft in the world, carrying cargo for a commercial customer.

Our airfield will be busy over the next couple of weeks with many customers. We continue to support the U.S. Navy's Field Carrier Landing Practice training to certify pilots on a simulated aircraft carrier runway.

A Northrop Grumman Corporation Pegasus rocket will be integrated to their Stargazer L-1011 aircraft before it deploys from the Marshall Islands later next month. And Wallops will host the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and other military aircraft for their performance at the upcoming Ocean City Air Show.
