Firing up the grill this weekend? Grilling is a great way to enjoy time with family and friends.

To stay safe while cooking:
• Use grills outdoors only. Place them well away from siding, deck railings, and overhangs. Do not use grills under porches, balconies, or tree branches.
• Keep a 3-foot “safety zone” around the grill for kids and pets.
• Never leave a grill unattended.

Traveling plans for summer? If you are staying in a hotel or motel, take a minute to learn your surroundings in case of an emergency. https://nfpa.social/3YJSfTc

When you arrive:
• Read the escape plan posted in your room.
• Count the number of doors between your room and the nearest exits.
• If exit doors are not alarmed, open them to be sure they are unlocked.

Lint happens. Fires don’t have to. Lint buildup can lead to a dryer fire if it’s not cleaned regularly.

• Clean the lint filter before or after each load.
• Make sure the outdoor vent flap opens when the dryer is running.
• Have a qualified service person clean the inside of the dryer cabinet and exhaust duct once a year.

BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT. GIVE BLOOD. HELP SAVE LIVES.

Boyne City EMS is proud to host an upcoming community blood drive on Friday, May 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Just one donation can make a life-saving difference!

"Double Red" appointments available:
By donating double red cells, you're helping patients who need larger volumes of red blood cells, such as those undergoing heart surgery, trauma recovery, or cancer treatments. In fact, trauma patients may require up to 4-6 units of red blood cells to stabilize, while surgical patients often need 2-4 units. Your one double red donation provides two units of red blood cells, which could help multiple patients at once. And the best part? You only need to donate half as often, making your contribution both impactful and convenient!

We currently need at least 20 donors to help meet patient needs. If you are able, please consider scheduling an appointment and helping support this important cause.

This morning, our medical team went on an adventure in the woods to assist an injured hiker. We owe a special thank you to the Boyne City Fire Department for bringing out their side-by-side to help safely transport the individual to the waiting ambulance.
Later in the evening, our medical and fire personnel responded to a vehicle fire along the side of the highway.
We want to take a moment to thank our team for putting their lives on hold and coming out to assist our community in times of need. Their dedication and commitment shine in these moments, and we couldn’t be more thankful to have them.
