Through a full calendar of events and programs, the Chamber supports business and community growth,

On September 14, 1915 a group of local businessmen in Wallingford held their first meeting to form a local Chamber of Commerce. By the end of the year the Chamber had 225 members! Over the years the Chamber became involved in many community and business affairs. The Chamber briefly dissolved during the depression years. The Chamber became very active during the 1950's and 1960's in such large projects as development of Community Land and local road and highway construction. In 193 Katharyn O'Hay Granahan then treasurer of the United States addressed the Chamber at their annual meeting. In 1985 the Chamber hires their first full time executive Robin Chiat Wilson. The Chamber has 230 members and a budget of $30,000! In 1986 the Chamber hires Cindy Semrau as a part time employee. In March of 1989 with a lot of hard work from the Chamber staff and the First Selectman of the town of North Haven, that town joins the Wallingford Chamber of Commerce with over 90 members. The newly formed Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce boasts over 400 members.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Episode 5 of the Commerce & Community Podcast is now live!

In this clip, our Podcast Intern Jaylah Cochran, a freshman in the Music Production program at Southern Connecticut State University, opens up about her song โ€œ11:11.โ€

Originally, Jaylah wasnโ€™t sure about releasing the song โ€” but others connected deeply with the lyrics and encouraged her to continue developing and producing it alongside fellow students on campus.

Itโ€™s a powerful reminder of how creativity, collaboration, and believing in your voice can lead to something meaningful.
