Northern Aroostook residents and visitors: Spruce budworm treatment activities are expected to begin as early as May 26.

During the program, some ATV trails and private roads may be temporarily closed, and helicopters may fly low over treatment areas. Treatments will only occur in forested areas enrolled in the program by participating landowners.

The Town of Wallagrass is looking for volunteers to help put up flags around town before Memorial Day Weekend. 🇺🇸

As we prepare to honor our veterans and celebrate America’s 250th Birthday leading up to the 4th of July, we would love the community’s help displaying flags throughout town.

If you are willing to lend a hand, please contact Elaine Desjardins at 834-5189 or the Town Office at 834-2263.

Any help is greatly appreciated as we come together to show our pride and patriotism!

📣 Reminder: Special Town Meeting Tonight at 7:00 PM

The Town of Wallagrass will hold a Special Town Meeting this evening at 7:00 PM, and we want to be very clear about the purpose of this meeting.

This meeting is 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 to vote updates to:
• The Land Use Ordinance (adopted in 2023)
• The Shoreland Zoning Ordinance (adopted in 2009)

❗ 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐚𝐱𝐞𝐬.
There are 𝐍𝐎 changes being proposed to how the Town of Wallagrass taxes residents.

The Town has also heard some rumors circulating, and we want to reassure everyone that the Town remains in good financial health. Our Municipal Building continues to operate using rental income and the same annual appropriation that has been requested since the building was obtained in 2018. The spreadsheet below shows exactly what we’ve spent on the Municipal Building from March 1, 2025 through February 3, 2026. We are strong with rentals and community support on utilizing the building to its best potential. We will have 3 other rooms going up for rent in the next few months.

If you have questions or concerns, the best source of information is 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 the Town Office — please feel free to contact Lana 𝐃𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐋𝐘 rather than relying on coffee-shop talk.
