🦁 THROWBACK THURSDAY 🦁

Samson and Nala 💖 the beloved Barbary lions who were part of our family for 22 years. They were a truly special pair, always loving and affectionate with each other. They reigned over the zoo like a king and queen, delighting visitors young and old. 💖

Losing our patriarchs was heartbreaking. It’s been a long time since we’ve heard Samson’s amazing roar, and we still miss them both dearly.

Our new pride of lions is a true blessing, and we’re so excited to share their story and watch them grow together. Samson and Nala will always hold a special place in our hearts. ❤️

Do you have a favorite memory of this amazing duo? Did you get a Samson blanket from the zoo? We still have ours—and it’s still so soft and special! 🥰

And can we please take a moment to appreciate those absolutely PERFECT little toe beans?! 🖤🐾

We can’t wait to watch this beautiful baby grow and share more with all of you!

What gets your vote: those round little ears, that precious face—or the toe beans? 😍

🤔 SPOTS, STRIPES, OR SOMETHING ELSE? 🐾

We have a brand-new baby animal joining an Animal Encounter at Boo at the Zoo this weekend—and here’s your clue: this little one’s baby coat is very different from the look it will have as an adult! 👀

So, what’s your guess? What kind of animal changes its look as it grows? And do you think it grows up with spots, stripes, or a solid coat?

Does it start off with spots and lose them? Does it start with no spots and gain them as it grows up? Does it start with a fluffy coat and end up with a soft, smooth coat?

Drop your guesses below—we want to see how many different animals you come up with! ⬇️
