Gunderson for Sheriff TOGETHER, WE CAN DO BETTER. I ask for your vote of confidence in May 2016, as I run for Sheriff of Shoshone County. Customs certification course.

I am announcing my candidacy for Shoshone County Sheriff in May 2016. I have been in law enforcement since 1991, and hold Basic, Intermediate, and Management POST Academy certifications. I have attended the Basic and Advanced Narcotics Academies offered by the DEA, FBI Command College, and the U.S. I have several hundred hours of management and leadership training, with many years of service spent

managing the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office during my time there. If elected Sheriff, I promise to have a working administration, a working relationship with all law enforcement agencies, and I will develop trust and a positive working relationship with our community. I will strive to increase narcotics enforcement and the presence of law enforcement throughout Shoshone County. I am dedicated to a safer Shoshone County. Thank you to everyone who attended Mike's memorial service on the 17h. The showing of support from the community was outstanding and the family loved seeing how many people came to pay their respects. It goes to show how much of an effect Mike had on everyone.

A special thank you to Paul Berger of the Idaho State Police and Jason Woody of the Osburn Police for coordinating such a beautiful memorial. Additionally, thank you to all the other uniformed law enforcement officers that were in attendance as well.

Keep an eye out for invites to Facebook groups for The Mike Gunderson Memorial Fund in the future. The family is discussing how The MG Memorial Fund will be used to benefit our community in Mike's honor and memory, ensuring that his legacy continue to positively impact those around us for years to come. I would like to take this opportunity to announce that after 32 years of public service in law enforcement to the citizens of Shoshone County, I will be retiring. I intended to continue leading law enforcement in Shoshone County forward long into the future. However, 3 years ago I was diagnosed with a personal medical condition and after collaborating with medical specialists, family and friends the decision to retire from law enforcement was made.

Although I’m retiring, I do believe I was able to build strong foundations within our Office and Community. You have an amazing staff and command staff who will continue to serve and protect this community long into the future. A date of retirement has not been determined as of yet but I wanted to keep you aware of my decisions and the changes to come in the near future.

It has been a pleasure to have your confidence all these years and I hope to continue serving you the “Citizens” in other ways in the future. Together We Did Do Better!!
