🌺🌴 To wrap up the month of August and our “Luau” theme, we invited our residents to come and enjoy a fun and refreshing mocktail experience! And why choose just one when we could offer THREE different mocktail choices?!

Our residents enjoyed their favorite beverages from our very own mocktail bar, along with tropical music and beautiful videos of ocean views and luau dancers to create the perfect island atmosphere. 🌊💃 It was the perfect way to end our Luau-themed month—with great drinks, good company, and lots of tropical vibes! 🍍🥥Aloha! 🌴

💖 Our Activities Department is always doing our best to create meaningful experiences and bring joy to our residents.

Shout out to Houk Masonry for their highly quality work, kindness, and professionalism! This week they're on the WWVH campus constructing a beautiful natural-looking raised enclosure for our Veterans' water feature project which is being funded by donations.

Would you like to contribute to this amazing Veteran-driven project? Here's details and how to help:

WWVH Veterans are requesting donations for construction of a custom-built water feature for the front courtyard that'll be dedicated in honor of all past, present, and future Veterans and Staff of the Walla Walla Veterans Home. It will be a peaceful place for, "reflection, serenity, and to experience the healing powers of nature" - Bob Jones, WWVH Veteran who first presented this idea 2 years ago

SPECIAL INVITATION TO SUPPORT WWVH VETERANS
-------------------
Honored Veterans of the Walla Walla Veterans Home are currently inviting individuals and organizations to join them in creating something big, something new, meaningful, and lasting to "enhance the beauty and serenity" of this campus for decades to come. They are requesting donations for construction of a large custom-built water feature for the front courtyard of campus - to be dedicated in honor of all past, present, and future Veterans and Staff of the Walla Walla Veterans Home. Here are more details, why they are doing this, and how you can help:

After much coordination and planning, WWVH Vets kicked off their fundraising campaign with a great event this past June (see photos). This is a significant undertaking, requiring lots of our Veterans' time, thought, strategy, and energy. At every stage, their indomitable ambition, coordination, and creativity have been nothing short of extraordinary. They have been at the helm of this from the initial idea phase to design development, ongoing planning sessions, fundraising, extensive communications, coordinating logistics with staff, and working with WWVH Administrator to learn about safety and other rules/regs that must be followed for a landscaping installation this grand.

When their dream becomes a reality, these Vets will have had a hand in nearly every aspect of this endeavor. They will finally get to enjoy the rejuvenating sights and sounds of a cascading waterfall feature surrounded by native boulders, lush shrubbery, and trees - all situated in a custom-built raised enclosure with a natural cultured-stone exterior finish! It will be a peaceful place for, "reflection, serenity, and to experience the healing powers of nature" - Bob Jones (WWVH Veteran who first presented this idea 2 years ago).

🌴🌺💃🍍WWVH Luau Party 8/12/2026🌴🌺💃🍍

After a bit of decorating for this special event, our residents were ready to see what we had in store for them! Everyone enjoyed watching luau dancing and fire dancing movies and partaking in delicious luau-themed treats and drinks - which helped make the afternoon even more memorable. This is one example of the many ways we strive to add a little more joy, connection, and positive quality of life for Those Who Served and their loved ones. Seeing smiles on our residents faces during fun experiences like this makes what we do here at the Veterans Home so special!

🌸 A Lovely Day for Tea 🫖💕

"After dealing with some inclement air quality recently in the Walla Walla area, our ladies were more than ready to get out and enjoy a beautiful morning together. We gathered for lovely music, tea, delicious coconut treats, and fresh fruit - all made even sweeter by wonderful conversation and quality time with Teresa. Jacky added to the experience with beautiful scenery and music videos, creating such a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere.

It was truly a beautiful morning filled with friendship, laughter, music, and moments to cherish. 💕🌷🫖

Such a beautiful and heartfelt pleasure to Serve Those Who Served and their Loved Ones. I am Honored to be a part of Walla Walla Veterans home."

Special message from a group of our WWVH Vets to the mystery person who surprised them and sneakily paid for their breakfast at Clarette's Restaurant this morning: We want to say THANK YOU A WAFFLE LOT!! That was very thoughtful and it meant a great deal. We hope you will see this post and know that you touched our hearts with your generosity this morning. Thanks again! 🇺🇸

Greetings, WWVH followers! What's crackin'? We wanted to share something you might dig - or at least think is cool beans. Here at the Walla Walla Veterans Home, we deeply understand and believe in the value of social connections and having fun together at every stage of life. In that spirit, we have been enjoying some groovy themed Resident and Family Gathering's over the past year and a half! At these shindigs, residents, staff, and some families get together and enjoy refreshments, tell stories, get facility updates, play games, laugh and joke around, and just spend time getting to know each other better. We recently held a 70's themed gathering and had a great time! Hope you enjoy these photo memories from that evening. Peace Out, Rock On
