Whitman’s Sociology of Education class assigned two groups of students to help Sharpstein staff members find new solutions and strategies. One group supported Mrs Humbert in a project called MULTILINGUAL LANGUAGE PRACTICE AND ENGAGEMENT FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS and the other supported Ms Curles with GAME DESIGN AND EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING FOR K-5 STUDENTS. We are so grateful for their work and research and are excited for how it can support our students!

Thank you Professor Michelle Janning for making this partnership possible. The game boards designed by the students will be available for families who would like to continue growth and learning at home.

Thank you to all our teachers! Each of you makes our school a better place!

Teacher Appreciation Week: May 4–8, 2026

Walla Walla Public Schools invites students, families, staff, and community members to join in celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4–8, 2026. This special week is an opportunity to recognize the exceptional educators who make a lasting difference in the lives of our students every day.

Our teachers are at the heart of everything we do. They go beyond delivering lessons, building meaningful relationships, fostering curiosity, and creating safe, supportive environments where every student can thrive. Through their dedication, creativity, and unwavering commitment, they help shape confident learners and compassionate leaders prepared for the future.

Teacher Appreciation Week is a chance to pause and reflect on the powerful role educators play in our schools and community. Whether it’s a note of thanks, a kind word, or a simple gesture of gratitude, every expression of appreciation makes a difference.

Please join us in celebrating the remarkable teachers of Walla Walla Public Schools and thanking them for the passion and purpose they bring to their work each day.
