Did you know that an estimated 24,000 members of the Reserve Component are unemployed, and a recent study determined that up to 50 percent of the Reserve enlisted force is underemployed?

2120 S. 2nd Ave, near the VFW monument (Birch and Walnut Streets, in the cemetery), Walla Walla, WA

Join us for our annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 25. Led by the American Legion Post #32, the ceremony will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, 2120 S. 2nd Ave, Walla Walla, WA, near the VFW monument (Birch and Walnut Streets, in the cemetery). Please park on street shoulders and walk over; bring a chair if needed. The program will include a dedication in honor of our veterans, a color guard presented by WaHi JROTC cadets, and will conclude with a rifle volley and bugle salute. “All gave some—some gave all.” Please join us in honoring those who gave all!

COMING UP: Up next at the Reserve Organization of America (ROA) NW-021 Chapter luncheon: Join us for an informative presentation by MAJ Jeff Cortez, USA, Inventory Management and Pharmacoeconomics Program Manager at the Walla Walla VA Center, on how federal pharmacists play a vital role in patient-centered care, public health, medication safety, and improving health outcomes for Veterans. Join us on Friday, June 5, 2026, at noon at the Walla Walla Country Club, 1390 Country Club Road, Walla Walla, WA 99362. A light lunch menu will be available for purchase. Come learn about local VA pharmacy services — and enjoy lunch with members of the ROA!

When a citizen-service member answers the nation’s call, the family answers it too. And during the Month of the Military Child in April, we remember that, while a child does not wear the uniform, they carry part of the burden of our military service.

This has been the dynamic for the past 250 years, and National Guard and Reserve families continue to live this military lifestyle every day. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
