The new process may remediate PFAS that have contaminated farmland for decades while removing CO2 from the atmosphere. The new approach also allows previously contaminated cropland to once again be used for agriculture — unlike current remediation methods.

Farmers Market canceled for today due to air quality forecast

Wall Township Farmers Market – Thursday, July 16

The decision to cancel tomorrow’s market was not made lightly.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Red Air Quality Alert for Monmouth County, with air quality forecast to reach unhealthy levels for the general population. At the same time, temperatures are expected to climb into the 90s, with a heat index approaching 100°F during market hours.

While we know many of you were looking forward to shopping the market, the health and safety of our vendors, customers, volunteers, and staff must come first. Our vendors spend hours outdoors setting up, working in the heat, and breaking down, and asking them to do so under these conditions isn’t something we’re comfortable with.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we make these difficult decisions. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next week under safer conditions.
