Please join us in remembering Firefighter Robin Arlt of Grant Township Fire, Mason County. Mason County lost a dedicated firefighter yesterday after his battle with cancer. Robin served as a Firefighter, EMT, and Instructor, and will be remembered as a genuine and caring individual.

Thank you for your years of service. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and fellow firefighters.

At Walkerville Area Fire & Rescue, training never stops. Whether it’s brushing up on a refresher or learning something new, we’re always working to be ready.

Tonight, our men and women spent the evening practicing CPR skills during a refresher training. Staying sharp on these life-saving skills helps ensure we’re ready when our community needs us most. 🚒❤️

Happy New Year from the Walkerville Area Fire Department!

As we reflect on the past year—both its challenges and its successes—we are reminded of the dedication and purpose behind our service to the community. Below is a brief recap of 2025 for WAFD:

🚒 We experienced the unexpected loss of our former Chief, Jerry Frick. Chief Frick was honored by representatives from more than 10 fire departments, who attended his visitation with their apparatus in a powerful show of respect and brotherhood.
🚒 Responded to a total of 289 calls for service.
🚒 80 of those calls were fire-related.
🚐 209 of those calls were rescue-related.

As we look ahead to 2026, we remain committed to a year of continued service, readiness, and protection for the residents we are proud to serve.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

With deepest sorrow, I am writing that our former fire chief Greg Frick has unexpectedly passed yesterday.

We ask for continued prayer for the Frick family in this time of need.

We shall post service arrangements, when they become available.

Thank Assistant Chief, Lance Van Sickle and Firefighter Leonard Amador for taking the time to venture to ice mountain in Standwood. Ice Mountain was generous to donate a pallet of water to Crystal and Walkerville Fire Department, each department received a pallet.

Thank Assistant Chief Van Sickle for utilizing you truck and trailer.

Thank Firefighter Amador for completing the grant process and helping to retrieve for the departments.

Our firefighter's graciously appreciate the donation made by Ice Mountain.

All are welcome, please come to our Fire Prevention open house.

We wish everyone a blessed Memorial Day!

But remember to be safe when out and about on your side-by-side or jeeps. Those vehicles can roll, oh remember seat belts. One accident today was enough.
