Drug Take Back with Maryland State Police Resident Troopers in Walkersville, Maryland. June 8, 2019 from 8AM to Noon.
Maryland State Police, Frederick County Health Department, and Frederick County (MD) Fire & Rescue are proud to announce their partnership for a 2019 Drug Take Back Program. We will host four events at local fire departments throughout Frederick County where unused prescription drugs/narcotics and syringes may be safely disposed.
Our second event takes place this Saturday, June 8th, 2019, at Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company #11 from 08:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Health technical professionals and Maryland State Police will be there to assist citizens with their disposals and to provide educational materials and brochures to prevent drug abuse and addiction.
Our partnership hopes to accomplish the following goals:
-Remove unused prescription drugs/narcotics to prevent unlawful use and abuse.
-Provide an environmental friendly avenue for citizens to: Remove & destroy unwanted prescription drugs.
-Safely destroy used syringes to prevent the spread of diseases.
-Ask questions about mental health and rehabilitative resources.
-Provide educational materials and brochures to prevent drug abuse and addiction.
