Graduation Season Continues! Help us also congratulate Firefighter/EMT Andrew Starvaggi! 👏 Andrew recently graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University with a degree to pursue pre-med, with a goal to become a doctor! 👨‍⚕️ Andrew is dedicated to learning as much as he can in emergency medicine. He not only responds with us, but is also a top ambulance responder at Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company, Inc. and an active responder with Vigilant Hose Company🚑

Congratulations Andrew! Good luck in your future studies! 🚒🧑‍🚒

Please join us in congratulating Firefighter Ryan Cosgrove on his graduation! 👏 Ryan started in our Department as a cadet member, immediately took fire training and progressed quickly to the rank of firefighter. 🧑‍🚒

We are extremely proud of him and thank him for committing to a life of service. 💙 Ryan has chosen to continue his service by enlisting in the United States Coast Guard. Good luck Ryan!

Please note the annual burn ban is in effect starting Monday June 1st. For more information, see the post below or contact the Health Department.

The Frederick County Health Department (FCHD) reminds county residents that there is an open burning ban in effect each year from June 1st through August 31st. Open burning permits cannot be used during this time. This ban does not apply to small recreational fires such as campfires, barbeques, or gas grills. Join us in congratulating Chris Ragen! 🚨Chris has recently completed Gear Up, Protective Equipment training, and Hazardous Materials Operations training to be able to respond to emergencies as an observer! 👏 This is the first major step in becoming a fully functional firefighter and we couldn’t be more proud! 🧑‍🚒
