Fountain Rock Park & Nature Center Nature programs for all ages set on 22 acres of scenic environmental and historical land. Park open Enjoy a picnic in the pavilion by the playground.

Tucked away, just west of Walkersville and set on over 22 acres of beautiful parkland, is Fountain Rock Park and Nature Center.

**Fountain Rock Park**
Stroll along the deck overlooking the quarry pond where you'll see sunbathing turtles. Bring your binoculars and spot native Maryland birds on one of our many hiking trails. Get a glimpse into the past when you tour our historic lime kilns. Free an

d open to the public daily (except major holidays) from 8am to sunset.

**Fountain Rock Nature Center**
Visit our Nature Center to enjoy interactive displays, collections of natural objects and artifacts, as well as an extensive library and play areas with discovery boxes for children. There are also many live animals that reside in the Nature Center, including Madagascar hissing cockroaches, Vietnamese walking sticks, an observation honey bee hive, bearded dragons, snakes, tarantulas, toads, frogs, and turtles. Free and open to the public on weekends only, Saturdays 10am - 4pm and Sundays 1 - 4pm (weekdays the center is used for private classes and programs).

**Nature Program Offerings**
We engage nature lovers of all ages through our year-round programs, including summer camps, afterschool activities, birthday parties, homeschool classes, scout programs, and field trips. Fountain Rock Nature Center visited the Emmitsburg Branch Library for a spine-tingling afternoon of bugs, beasts, and brave explorers!
