This is a tough one. 💔 If you knew Patti Bewick, you understand. If you didn’t, I’m sorry - you missed out.
I am most thankful that I had the opportunity to tell her exactly what she meant to me at the last graduation ceremony she attended.
These are the words I shared “in the event that she does decide to retire, I could not let this night go by without saying these words to her. Patti Lou, I am a better educator, a better mother, a better friend, a better human for having known you. This room shines a little brighter simply because you are in it and I will forever cherish the time we got to spend with you.”
The word JOY and the color YELLOW will always remind me of you and Big Brother will never be the same without your commentary!
In her obituary, she describes her time at Adult Ed as “the most rewarding of her career”. More than 40 years in education, and her time with us was the most memorable. Same, Patti Lou, same. Room 11 will always be your room, and a piece of my heart will always belong to you!
PS. I’ll also think of you EVERY time I put on white pants, ESPECIALLY after Labor Day!
