BOIL WATER ADVISORY LIFTED

The 24-hour Boil Water Advisory for customers on Pickens Highway near Country Junction Road, Country Junction Road, Oconee Creek Road, Burnt Tanyard Road, and all immediate surrounding areas has been officially lifted.

Water samples have been collected and tested, and results have confirmed that the water is safe for normal use. Customers may resume using water for drinking, cooking, and all other purposes without boiling.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this advisory.

WATER SERVICE RESTORED – 24-HOUR BOIL WATER ADVISORY

The Walhalla Water Department is pleased to notify customers that the damaged water line has been repaired and water service has been restored.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Walhalla Water Department is issuing a 24-hour Boil Water Advisory for customers affected by the water line interruption.

Affected customers are in the areas of Pickens Highway near Country Junction Road, Country Junction Road, Burnt Tanyard Road, Oconee Creek Road, Lecroy Road, Wade Taylor Road, and immediate surrounding areas.

Until the advisory has been officially lifted, customers should boil water for at least 3 minutes before using it for:
• Drinking
• Cooking or preparing food
• Brushing teeth
• Making ice
• Preparing baby formula
• Any other consumption

Customers may continue to use water for bathing and other non-consumption purposes.

We understand that water service interruptions are an inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding while our crews worked to safely complete the repairs.

Additional updates will be provided once the 24-hour advisory has been completed.

WATER SERVICE NOTICE

The Walhalla Water Department would like to notify customers that we have received numerous calls regarding no water and/or low water pressure in certain areas.

Our crews were dispatched to investigate the issue and have determined that a water line has been hit and damaged by a contractor. Our crews are currently on site and working to make the necessary repairs.

Customers in the affected area may experience low water pressure or a temporary loss of water service while repairs are being completed.

Affected areas include certain parts of Pickens Highway, Country Junction Road, Oconee Creek Road, Lecroy Road, Wade Taylor Road, and any close surrounding areas.

Our crews are working diligently to have water service restored to normal as quickly and safely as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding while our crews work to resolve this issue.

WATER SERVICE RESTORED & BOIL WATER ADVISORY

The City of Walhalla Water Department has completed repairs to the pump station after a power surge blew the breaker and water service has been restored to all affected customers.

Out of an abundance of caution, a 48 HOUR Boil Water Advisory is now in effect. This is for customers on Oconee Station Road
Pickett Post Road
Playground Road
Lecroy Road
Burnt Tanyard Road
Country Junction Road
Oconee Creek Road
Old Station Road
Whitecut Road and all surrounding areas. Customers are advised to bring all water to a rolling boil for at least three (3) minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, or preparing food.

Customers may also notice discolored or milky water. This is normal following a repair and is caused by air and sediment in the lines. Running cold water for several minutes should help clear it.
Customers will be notified when the advisory has been lifted.

CITY OF WALHALLA Highway 11 Pump Station Loss of Power
The City of Walhalla Water Department is notifying customers that a loss of power at the Highway 11 Pump Station may result in a temporary loss of water service or low water pressure for customers in the following areas:
• Oconee Station Road
• Pickett Post Road
• Playground Road
• Lecroy Road
• Burnt Tanyard Road
• Country Junction Road
• Oconee Creek Road
• Old Station Road
• Heritage Farm Road
• Whitecut Road
• Surrounding areas
Walhalla Water Department crews are currently on site and working to restore normal operations and water service as quickly as possible.
Customers in the affected areas may experience fluctuations in water pressure or a temporary interruption of service while repairs are being completed.

IMPORTANT CUSTOMER NOTICE

The Walhalla Water Department would like to inform customers that while the originally issued Boil Water Advisory has been lifted, customers in the mapped area below, Rocky Knoll Road, Playground Road, Lake Jemiki Road and the nearby surrounding areas are still under an additional 24-hour Boil Water Advisory.

This additional advisory is necessary due to the water service disruption experienced last night as a result of the storm. As a precaution, customers receiving this notification should boil water for at least 3 minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or other consumption purposes until the additional 24-hour advisory has been officially lifted.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. However, the safety and well-being of our customers is our highest priority, and we are taking these additional precautions to ensure your water remains safe.

The Walhalla Water Department is pleased to inform all customers that the 48-hour Boil Water Advisory issued on Sunday, August 16, 2026, has officially been lifted.

Customers may now resume normal water usage. Water restrictions have also been officially lifted. However, we respectfully ask all customers to continue conserving water whenever possible as our system returns to normal operations. Your continued cooperation and conservation efforts are greatly appreciated.

We appreciate the patience, cooperation, and understanding of our customers.
