The Port of Alsea boat launch is now open.

03/28/2024

The Port of Alsea boat launch will close on Monday, April 8, 2024 and reopen on Wednesday, April 17 while repairs are being made to the boarding floats. We know this can be an inconvenience but the repairs need to be made during the slow part of the boating season. If we are able to open the launch a few days earlier, we will post that immediately. Thank you for your patience.

The Port of Alsea's boat launch will be closed on Monday, April 8, and reopen Wednesday, April 17, 2024. We received a $30,000 grant from the Oregon State Marine Board to make repairs to the boarding floats. Oregon Marine Construction will remove the boarding floats and take them to their facilities in Woodburn to make the repairs. Because the grant does not completely cover the cost of the repairs, the Port is choosing to save money by not having temporary boarding floats installed. We are still in the slow time of the boating season. We know this is inconvenient but we hope you will be patient while the repairs are being made. Thank you in advance for that patience.

The Port of Alsea office will be closed February 2 and reopen on February 12, 2024. I will begin taking moorage reservations on Monday, February 19. If you have questions while the office is closed, please contact Robby Hensen at the Dock of the Bay. Thank you for your patience.

I am trying to post a notice from the Port of Alsea about a board opening. For some reason, it just spins. It is posted on the Waldport community page and I will also post it on the Port of Alsea page. We hope that people from the Yachats area will consider applying for the position. Roxie Cuellar, Port Manager.

The Port of Alsea has filled the position that was advertised on the community page yesterday. It looks like we have a great addition to the Port's staff.

The Port of Alsea is having a special board meeting tomorrow at the Port office at 365 Port Street, Waldport, OR 97394 at 2:00. There will be no public input. The board is updating the Port's ordinances into a single ordinance; almost all of the current ordinances have remained unchanged since 1997. Tomorrow the board will finalize what the proposed ordinance will be. There will then be a public hearing on the ordinance at the board's regular meeting on Thursday, February 16, 2:00 at the Port office.
