Meet Pork, our handsome 4-month-old gray gentleman who is officially ready to find his forever home! 🩶
Pork didn't have the easiest start in life. He was abandoned and found trapped inside an upside-down cat carrier. Because of this scary and traumatic experience, Pork is understandably a bit shy when meeting new people or hearing unfamiliar sounds.
But look at him now! This resilient little fighter has had a massive glow-up, proving that love and patience can heal anything. 🥰
What Pork needs most is a calm, quiet, and understanding environment where he can take his time to learn that the world is a safe place. If you have ever heard of being sucked in by puppy dog eyes, then you probably heard this about Clyde. This spunky boy is the definition of a human's best friend. Clyde will melt into you and make you feel like he only has eyes for you. Clyde was found emaciated and had pressure wounds; most likely from being forced to lay down a lot. All he wants is to be loved on and adored. His adorable face and wide eyes will have you falling in love right when you meet him. He loves walks and spending time with his human friends. If you give him a treat, he will be your best friend immediately! Clyde is made up of 54 pounds of sugar and spice and everything nice! 🐱Meet Pork and Prissy, two gorgeous 3-month-old kittens who are looking for a patient, loving home to help them forget their scary past! 🐾

These two cuties had a heartbreaking start to life. They were found abandoned together, trapped inside an upside-down cat carrier. Because of this traumatic experience, they are both shy around new people, but their resilient spirits are just waiting for the right person to help them shine.

Pork is a handsome gentleman with a beautiful grey coat. As soon as he feels secure, his playful side comes out! He loves chasing feather wands and will happily pose for photos like the gentleman that he is.

Prissy is quiet and gentle and prefers to observe the world from the comfort of a cozy hiding spot. Once she feels safe, her sweet and playful nature shines through.

Pork and Prissy need an understanding environment where they can slowly learn to trust again at their own pace. With a little time and a lot of love, they will make rewarding, loyal companions. They can be adopted together or individually.

🦇 Protect Yourself and Your Pets: Oregon Rabies Update 🐾
According to recent Oregon Health Authority data, 30 bats have already tested positive for rabies in Oregon this year. This puts our state on track to potentially exceed previous records for positive wildlife cases.
As a reminder, Oregon State Law requires rabies vaccinations for pets. Rabies is a serious, infectious viral disease affecting the nervous system that spreads through bites or saliva from an infected animal. 💰 What does it cost?
A rabies vaccine typically costs between $18 and $70 per shot, depending on whether you visit a standard veterinary hospital, a mobile vet, or a low-cost community clinic.
📍 Where to get your pet vaccinated locally:
• Oregon Mobile Veterinary Services: Catch their mobile clinic in Newport on Saturday, September 12th (and usually the second Saturday of each month) from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Grocery Outlet (721 N Coast Hwy). • The SNip Ship: This mobile spay, neuter, and low-cost wellness clinic travels through Oregon offering heavily discounted rabies shots. They will be in Newport at the Old Safeway parking lot on September 27th. https://www.thesnipship.com/
• Your Local Veterinarian: You can also schedule a routine wellness exam or vaccine appointment directly with your primary vet clinic.
📋 Don't forget to keep your vaccine certificate! You will need this proof to license your dog.

Meet Sully.
If dogs could tell their stories, Sully's would begin with fear.
Born into the same life as his mother, Tesa, Sully never got the chance to discover that the world could be kind. Love wasn't something he was taught. Safety wasn't something he knew.
Now he is finally getting that chance.
Sully is a gentle soul, but the world still feels overwhelming to him. He is pretty head shy and sudden movements send him shrinking away. He watches before he trusts. He waits before he believes. It takes time for him to decide that a person is safe.
But if you're patient enough to let Sully move at his own pace, you'll discover something beautiful.
Behind those worried eyes is a dog who desperately wants to believe. Every day he finds a little more courage. Every gentle word, every tossed treat, every quiet moment teaches him that his past doesn't have to define his future.
Sully doesn't need someone to "fix" him. He needs someone who understands that healing isn't measured in days, but in tiny victories:

🌟 A HUGE thank you to Dr. Tamay Guevera for her incredible hard work and dedication to the animals at the Lincoln County Animal Shelter! 🌟
Over the past few weeks, Dr. Guevera has completed several spays, neuters, and even a special surgery on one of our staff favorites, Oboe. Oboe needed an entropion surgery — to correct a condition where the eyelids roll inward, causing the fur and eyelashes to scratch and ulcerate the cornea. Thanks to Dr. Guevera’s skill and compassion, Oboe is on the road to feeling so much better. 💛🐾
We are truly grateful for everything she does to keep our animals healthy, comfortable, and ready for their forever homes. Thank you, Dr. Guevera, for being such an important part of our shelter family! 🙏🐶💙
