Today marks 70 years since the brutal murder of Emmett Till.

At just 14 years old, Emmett’s life was stolen in an act of unimaginable violence that shocked the nation and fueled the Civil Rights Movement. His death was not just the loss of a child, but a painful reminder of the deep injustice and racism that have scarred this country.

Seventy years later, we remember Emmett, not as a victim, but as a spark that ignited change. His story calls us to face the truth: silence and complacency in the face of hate are not options. We honor his memory by teaching his story, by standing against racism in all its forms, and by ensuring that the next generation carries forward the fight for justice and equality.

Emmett Till should have grown up, lived a full life, and been here today. We owe it to him and to every life cut short by hatred to never forget and to keep pressing forward.

Rest in peace, Emmett Till. Your life mattered. Your story still matters.

Join us at the Charles County Courthouse in La Plata, MD to represent Southern Maryland in the fight against tyranny.
CELEBRATE FREEDOM. Independence Day is about the fight for freedom. The American Revolution was a stand against tyranny and kings. That same spirit has lived on—from the Boston Tea Party to the Underground Railroad, from Stonewall to the Civil Rights Movement.

🗣️ Dear Congressman Congressman Steny Hoyer Steny Hoyer

Yesterday (June 24, 2025), the House voted 344–79 to table Rep. Al Green’s effort to begin impeachment proceedings against former President Trump over the unauthorized military strikes on Iran.

Shockingly, 128 House Democrats joined all 216 Republicans in voting not to move forward .

Why did you choose to vote with that majority, effectively halting any impeachment inquiry? The allegations cite a clear constitutional violation—launching military action without Congressional approval. Was your “no” vote because:
• You believed it wasn’t the right time politically?
• You trust that Trump’s decision was justified?
• Or perhaps you felt impeachment for this context would be too divisive?

Our democracy depends on accountability. We deserve transparency about what guided your decision—and whether you’ll support other oversight tools or investigations moving forward.

Please explain your reasoning. This isn’t a casual ask—it reflects constituents’ concerns about checks and balances and congressional oversight. We’re counting on you to explain your vote, and to stand for the Constitution.

We think it is time to do a NYC. Send incumbents home.
