Seas the day. 🌊Leave the beach cleaner than you found it!

Join Save The Bay - Narragansett Bay at South Kingstown Town Beach on Saturday, October 3, from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. for a beach cleanup. Volunteers will collect litter and record what they find, contributing valuable data to The Ocean Conservancy's annual report on marine debris.

A new buoy-marked boating lane has been installed near the Worden Pond Boat Ramp. Boaters are encouraged to follow the marked lane through the smallest portion of the pond’s largest hydrilla patch and toward more open water.

Using the lane will help reduce the number of hydrilla fragments cut by boat propellers, limit the plant’s spread and make it easier for boaters to navigate without repeatedly stopping to clear vegetation from their motors.

Stay in the marked lane and help protect Worden Pond!

🌿A third treatment to manage invasive hydrilla in Worden Pond is scheduled for Monday, September 14, weather permitting.

Treatments began in August and will continue periodically through November as part of a long-term effort to protect Worden Pond and prevent hydrilla from spreading to other waterways.

Today, the South Kingstown Parks & Recreation Department pauses to remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001. We honor the victims, the courage of the first responders and all whose lives were forever changed.

Twenty-five years later, their memory remains in our hearts.

We will never forget.
